Bioluminescent and Fluorescent Virus

Molecular imaging in vivo with firefly luciferase, fluorescent proteins (GFP/RFP), and thymidine kinase provides a non-invasive and accurate method to track cell fate after cell transplantation in small animals. Use BLIV lentiviral vectors to generate stable cell lines. Lenti-based BLIV vectors can be used as regular plasmid DNA with a transient transfection protocols for preliminary experiments. As viruses, lenti-based vectors have nearly 100% integration so they are suitable for establishing stable cell lines and high-throughput applications.
