CENP-A/ Histone H4 Tetramers made from recombinant histones expressed in E. coli (Centromere protein A, CENPA, CenH3; accession numbers: CENP-A: P49450; H4: P62805). CENP-A and H4 were expressed and purified individually by FPLC, then assembled into tetramers that were further purified using gel filtration chromatography. CENP-A is a specialized variant of H3 and component of modified nucleosomes found at the core centromere.
